Thinking about tinkering around with building a new strapless toy? Have some feedback about construction, materials, rocker line? Post it here.

Build XPC core & epoxy - Allround wave board Ghetto Style

Hi Lonny, yeah the board is going to get a good beating :D autumn / winter winds are kicking in, good times are ahead!

And yes, fins are an issue. Strange that not more emphasis is put into this by the big manufacturers. Let's see if I can speak to some fin guys (TFC come to mind). I believe there is loads to be done.

Nice paint job! Reminds me of something but i can't quite remember what!

Plus making fins is definately a good idea, plywood glassed fins work well on the right board but they can be a little too stiff sometimes.

I've not shaped in eps yet. Does it not turn into lots of little balls when you sand/plane it?

TMW, I'm not working with EPS either, but I hear it isn't a problem shaping. Open cell... it's a sponge when you puncture it, can't be bothered to try. You're working with PU I take? Have a look at XPS for an alternative.

I will look properly into fins now. Glassed ply is a good start I guess. I use FCS plugs, so have to test how good it holds.
