Thinking about tinkering around with building a new strapless toy? Have some feedback about construction, materials, rocker line? Post it here.

My ride

Postby nemoz » Fri Jan 16, 2009 6:09 am

Hi to all I'm Italian, but during winter i live in Canary island, I'm a home builder, wacum fridge pump and cheap rocker table, this is my latest toy 130*50 cm alias 51"*20" i think... foam-balsa core and 600 gr triaxial glass fiber with epoxy resin, 4 fin setup for very choppy days and no fin for flat riding, I use 4 1" wakeskate fins, flat tail rocker and 4 cm at nose something similar to 1,5".. really cheap:
core 5 euro
fiber 3 euro
resin 4 euro
fins free from old wakeskates
pads 9 euro

Hey Nemoz,

Welcome to Lose the Straps! Thank you for joining and posting your pictures of your custom strapless beauty. Very cool. It's amazing how inexpensively you built your board. If I thought I had any shaping skills I would try to build a board myself, but I tend to hate all the chemicals, dust, etc. So I leave it to the experts. :D Next time you make one it would be great if you shot some pictures while you are in the different stages of making your board. I am sure your pictures and tips would be quite useful to others here that build boards as well.

That is an awesome place to live. Canary Islands tend to have some pretty strong winds. Do you use it mostly in lighter wind? I agree with Chanson, it definitely looks like fun to ride.
