Wow, extraordinary build

I was wondering, how to f*** did you do that taper/round on the top, around the outline?

And a question which is bugging me from the beggining of your build- final weight?

Thanks for the kind words zob. I will be taking a couple pics to show you how I made the rails - I was wondering the same as you before I finally found an easy way to do it

FInal board weight is 12.0kg + 0.5kg deck pad = 12.5 kg. Front section is 6kg, rear section is 6.5kg, paddle is 600g (will be more like 650g when fixed and reinforced).

The split construction adds around 2.0kg to the board, so if I built in one piece it would be around 10.5kg

Making the rails:

1. First I do the deck as seen on the pics. STEP 1


2. When the deck is finished, I make the lower rails, gluing the strips parallel to the deck level. STEP 2.

3. When the lower rail is finished, I use the fad to even out the deck and lower rail. STEP 3

4. Then I glue on the upper rail, strip by strip, parallel to the deck. STEP 4

5. Then I even out the upper rail and glue the bottom, strip by strip.

Here's another pic of the finished rail where you see the details. The upper rail is sitting on top of everything. Looks quite smooth.
