The Webber boards from Global Surf are good for kiting. I have a retailer in Cape Hatteras that is a surfer first and kiter second and he sells the Webbers to kiters. I'm not familiar with the Afterburner and Webber might shape for multiple brands. I hope this helps!

Looks like a pretty good board. It all depends on your conditions. For that board, i would say it would perform fine in chest to head high waves, maybe a touch bigger with stronger winds. Not the best for light winds, but when the wind is up and the surf is good, you'll have a blast!!!
If your looking for something better in the lighter stuff, look for a wider tail, lower entry, and quad!!
