Happy New Year

Postby mattv » Fri Jan 02, 2009 12:35 am

Happy New Year to everyone!

I hope everyone got a New Years session.

We had 30+ knot winds and waves so I got my first session of the year with the strapless surf. The winds were a little wild, however, at one point a gust hit and ripped me right off of my board. That was only the second time in my three years of kiting that that has occurred. After that I decided to pack it in for the day.

Happy New Year to All!

I was lucky enough to catch a sweet, outgoing tide skim session on my 10 yesterday. Super nice. Q-Ball was in town ripping it up on his Placebo Surfskate. Showing some impressive strapless prowess.

Plus, we all went on the boat New Year's Eve and watched some amazing fireworks. A really nice way to start the New Year! 8) Got to love living in Miami this time of year.

Matt way to go. Hitting it hard in the big winds.

Turns out someone snapped a picture of me riding on the 6'4" strapless surf on New Year's Day.

Unfortunately the wind was just a little bit too much to the west so the waves were crappy. More easterly wind and the waves get much better.

Yes Happy New Year everyone! I'm in Hardangervidda, Norway strapping my poor feet into bindings for some snowkiting. No strapless session so far this year but I have a brand spankin new Surfskate at home just waiting to be ridden and I'm just about to pay an invoice for a custom carbon skim from Roush Creations. (Dready, if u read this I'm having it shipped straight to Sweden but thanks anyway).
