hey thanks C.
lurk all you want on nwkite.... and drop me a line whenever.
anything special about the skateboards? Wheels? Bearings?
Both. Wheels more than bearings. I use the Redz bearings (
http://www.sk8supply.com/porebe.html) and some OJ re-make's for wheels. Super soft. But the lot we ride has some shitty pavement, and some smooth pavement. I prefer larger/softer wheels so you can really hold an edge. I think the main thing is where you are planning on riding. If it is a smother lot, then it could be fun to get a wheel that is not super soft or hard, allowing you to "slide-out" and cut power when you want to.
Good bearings help b/c you can shoot upwind in almost no wind because there is basically no drag.
Think about throwing your skimboard on the water and see how far it goes. Then take your skateboard and throw it out on the pavement. It will roll forever with a good set-up.
Also, get a solid board. I go larger than traditional skate deck, for ollies, etc. I like the "pool-riding" shaped boards and larger twins work well cuz they are a little wider and have a large tip and tail.
For cruising and gybing, etc. try a longboard....It's way fun too.
Here is a link to the wheels I use and swear by...
http://socalskateshop.com/index.php?l=p ... ail&p=6176Trainers do work great, but they tend to shoot to the edge of the window too quickly...
We have started expiementing with our small, older C kites and short lines....10m, 15m, and 20m lines... It seems the 15m line set-up is magic. The C kites just sit there and you can ride all day long. Took out a 8m C with 20m lines in maybe 10-15mph winds and it was a blast! I'll keep ya updated with the latest session info.
let me know how it goes.
