Nice shots of some wicked strapless action. I know most people on this forum would have been focused on the wave comp but one of our local boys Sam rocked the freestyle comp and I was wondering if anyone knew of any video or photos of that action.

Awesome report Lonny.... great to see everyone out there having a great time...

And ditto to Bryan - Sam is one of our local buddies - great to see him winning it up (even with straps!) but the kid can thrash without straps as well..

Question: Was Cameron waxing his deckpad in those shots at the bottom? Just curious about that.

Thanks C. Yeah, Cam's harness exploded in the first heat and managed to make it back to the beach, but the shore break munched his board and broke one of his fin boxes. So I felt bad for him and gave him my 5' 7" S-Quad. I had it waxed up well, but he like wax on the pad too. I rode it later in the day and could not tell the difference, but who knows maybe it is better.

I asked Todd to see if he could find out more on Sam, so he will post something if he knows of more information. I know that Dasher shot the whole event on video so I am sure there will be some stuff on the way soon.

looked like a sweet event..nice strapless representation too! wanted to see a rider on a skim too though..

and the wind turned north, so goofy heaven!!! wish I could've gone..
