Will it skim?...

This is the place to talk about riding styles, tricks, conditions, what works, what doesn't on your skimboard. Wondering about what skimboard to get for kiting? Post it all here.

Will it skim?...

Postby gluepet » Fri Oct 26, 2012 12:02 pm

I have only seen images of this tail slide (with the board vertical) being done on twin-tips. Does anyone know if it is translatable to skim - and how it might work? It seems do-able - but I am not sure how to initiate. Any advice is appreciated:

Not that I've ever tried this on a skim... just physics: you would have to position your feet at the very extremes of the board. That is a bit awkward I guess.

Thanks for posting - it def helps to see the motion. I assumed that it would need to be done in the apex of a turn - but the video shows otherwise. Will give it a try next time out and report back.
