I am wondering if there is any consensus about when to replace a skim.
I have been riding a zap pro for the past two years and have beaten it to shiiiiitteee. Definitely my go-to board (though I admit to having some strapped fun as well... sorry)

The bottom has multiple reef-related injuries, three relatively large repairs (dont by me), several heel dents.
The edges are no longer new, not sharp, and have mulitple gashes some of which I have been able to fill with epoxy. I spent some time with a flat sander and was able to smooth out some things recently.

She's still ridable of course. The gear-monkey in me is wondering when to start looking for something new.

Hey Jason, favorite board is like an old pair of shoes isn't it. Make sure you get replacement of your pref size BEFORE the board snuffs it. Otherwise most definitely you will have the best wind in a century when you've just snapped your ride in two Or learn to ride a McDonalds tray

If I don't get a new board, I will miss the wind of the century... but if I DO get it, it won't be windy for another six months???

Seriously, however, I am interested in the new Airush skim. Looks nice and the price is right.
