Excited to join the skim world...

This is the place to talk about riding styles, tricks, conditions, what works, what doesn't on your skimboard. Wondering about what skimboard to get for kiting? Post it all here.

Excited to join the skim world...

Been kiting almost 2 years, switched to surfboards this spring.. Never touched my twintip since i first got on the surfboard.....

Went to a super shallow flatwater spot last week and had to ride the TT...... I was so bored... (am not into jumping much or tricks)

While i was riding i remembered watching some skim vids from here and thought why hadn't i had one already.... its basicly a slippery surfboard....

Sold my TT yesterday and bought a Victoria ultra L off ebay for cheap.... Hope this is a good choice...... It should be here next week, cant wait....

I will be posting my trials and tribulations of my new adventure.......

That's awesome! Not that there is anything wrong with riding your TT mind you, but selling the TT that is a major commitment :!: Truth be told I have not owned a TT in over 5 years. Riding a super shallow, flat water spot is A LOT of fun with a skimmy. Most Victorias are quite good, and an Ultra L is about 55" x 21", which should be just fine. A bit bigger than I personally like, but will work very nicely. Have fun and let us know goes!

Finally got out on my new skimmy..... It was good fun..... just like riding a slippery surfboard.... upwind was better than the guys on TT's.....

Couldnt transition w/o falling in, but a little practice and should get it..... Gonna give it a go in the waves later today....
