Biding my time, waiting for the season

This is the place to talk about riding styles, tricks, conditions, what works, what doesn't on your skimboard. Wondering about what skimboard to get for kiting? Post it all here.

Biding my time, waiting for the season

Hey fellers,

I'm just biding my time at work, waiting for the season to start off.
Up here in Halifax, NS, the water will be 2-3 degrees for at least another month.

Last year I got out as soon as april but it was chilly!

Started riding a skimboard last season and loved it, but it was a heavy beast. 58"x22" triple x skimmer.

Recently got a used 52" Zap Pro, so I've been dreaming about getting back to the kite skimming.

hope everyone is well and ripping,

Same here! Our spots have been frozen since the end of December and cursed with offshore wind. We don't have any ground swell so we need onshore to get any waves at all. I haven't even had the chance to try my Placebo Uber Fish that i received in November. I don't mind cold water as long as it's not frozen... I've booked a ticket to Australia and Indonesia this summer for 9 weeks so hopefully I'll get my fair share of waves this year :D

Right on Yann!

Hopefully the season is treating you a little better now.

We've got the temperature up to rideable for sure, but like you we're plagued with lots of offshore wind.

Now that summer approaches we can start to expect some thermal winds and decent riding!

Stoked!
