Skim trick - Benihana

This is the place to talk about riding styles, tricks, conditions, what works, what doesn't on your skimboard. Wondering about what skimboard to get for kiting? Post it all here.

Skim trick - Benihana

Anyone pulling them off? I had a great session yesterday on my skim and tried it a few times but never made it. I doesn't seem impossible though. Just have to calculate the wind a bit better and need more practice. Check out google images for some inspiration!

Nice Yann,

I like it. Looks like a very cool trick with some nice skate inspiration. I have done several one footers, usually with the front foot off, but not the back. Also adding the grab is a stylish touch. I will have to try that. Here is a shot I from last summer that caught something similar...Although not as cool as that. I can tell you it definitely not impossible!

LOL sundogchicky! I'm soon 33 and been around long enough to call Benihanas new school. On the other hand, Benihanas has been around long enough to be called old school by the kids today. Apparently it was invented sometime in the early nineties.

Benihana on wikipedia

I use to do judo airs with my surfboard. They are quite easy to learn.
Here is an involuntarily (back) one foot from today session. I actually made it but it was really close to flip up in my face
(as you can see I'm now back in my 6/4 again. My brother got hypothermia yesterday after kiting in his 4/3mm. He was still shivering this morning and so he had a sauna before work :D I'm happy not to wear gloves any longer!)
