hooked in and or not, to ole' or pass? fside or back?

This is the place to talk about riding styles, tricks, conditions, what works, what doesn't on your skimboard. Wondering about what skimboard to get for kiting? Post it all here.

riding hooked or not, frontside or backside? what"s the deal? id rather not make a choice between them, but rather learn them all and get barreled all four directions and be able to spin the extra 180 on revert tricks and 360's with either an ole' or handle pass. maybe im only being gay on some or most of them? whats the thought?

Hey Sundogchicky,

Welcome to lose the straps!

From my perspective, it is good to learn as many tricks in different directions, hooked, or unhooked because it adds to your skill. For instance, I have a much harder time with pop-shuvit to handle-pass vs. 180 to handlepass because I usually pop shuvit hooked in. I need to develop better skills doing pop shuvits unhooked, but I would not say you are lame for only doing it one way or not wanting to learn another way. Just the fact that you are riding a skim makes you cool :D
