Have a look at the new Cabrinha Wakeskate! I really hope it's better upwind than the LF.

Just got the new Cabrinha Wake skate and it's allot of fun, cranks upwind in moderate power conditions, nice pop and well behaved in air ,at about 10 lbs it's just enough to be stable but not to heavy for kiting.Has allot less rocker and more length at 120 cm than the average skate witch works very well for kiting . Hear is a few shots from day one.

This board looks really nice. Anyone know how much rocker the board has? (Looks nice & low like 2 cm or less.) How wide is it? (Looks like ~36 cm).

The wakeskate is offered in two models: 1/ EVA contoured deck for $259, and 2/ the grip tape deck for $199. Rocker is continuous at 1.5". Length is 140cm and width is 40cm. It's available in retailers in 8 or 9 weeks. I have mine, I just need some wind!!

What kinda core is the Cabsk8? W/them prices, I'd assume wood?

I tried my Hyperlite 120cm this past weekend. Afterwards, I wished it was bigger, faster, had less rocker..
Needs loads of wind to make anything happen....jumped back on my TT (oops, did I say that? ) and was going upind & riding w/no probs..

Cabsk8's look'n more appealing..

That's a bummer about your new sk8. The Cab has a wood core with ABS sidewall. It definitely has less rocker than a sk8 for a boat. It has similar upwind performance to a wakestyle board, like the Custom. I have heard that its even better in the light stuff since you can move your feet around. The next windy day, I'll have my two cents in here.

ABS sidewalls too 8) Even better!
Our winter kitebeach is all sand and we ride in cm's of shallow water, so the ABS's would be great.
One last question Todd - is the bottom covered w/a skin, or just painted?
Again, since we often times ride in cm's of water, a skin would hold up better against the regular edge-sanding.

A kitable wakesk8 w/out the need for boat speeds...hmmmm.. 8)
Great info!

The bottom has a plastic type base - I have no idea the material name.
