Due to the increased popularity, questions, and news coming from the strapless community I have added an exclusive Wakeskate topic - Tearing it up on your Wakeskate. I have also moved all previous wakeskate threads out of the other topics and into the wakeskate topic. Here is a link to the new forum topic:

Ready to buy a wakesk8, but need to know which is better for kiting?
- 3 stage rocker
- continuous
- hybrid?

Or does it even matter???

Also, would like to use it in moderate wind, and not nuke winds, as the sizes would suggest..(most 110cm's~!) kinda tiny..
Biggest/longest I can find is 117cm..good enough?

Any recommendations?

Well, I know Cabrinha has made a wakeskate specifically for kiting. It's a continuous rocker 120cm board with optional EVA pad or grip tape. It comes with legit fins as well. The construction is wood with ABS sidewall - really nice to prevent the board from soaking water and disintegrating. They worked with Jason Stone, Kevin Steen, and Dre to develop this board. You know it will rock. I think it's available in Early November.

Check http://usa.cabrinhakites.com/wakeskate.html for more info.

Domo arigato for the reply Todd-san.

Yeah - I was looking at Kite-specific sk8's for a reference, LF & Cab, but they didn't disclose too much info... :|

I'd love to try'n by the LF or Cab sk8's, but since I can't, I've opted for the biggest 'normal' sk8 I could find -
so I have a Hyperlite Phriction117 '09 on the way.

Can't wait for it to arrive! ~ then all I'll need is wind! :D

Boards here, winds here, but this weekend.... I won't be here... :|
Family trip to Osaka(UniversalStudios), so the Wakesk8 will have to wait till after this weekend, or maybe next weekend..

Board looks nice tho! BEEFY deck pad w/all kines of sexy curves~~Even the rocker is nice'n curvy! :)
Its heavy(compared to a kiteboard) and the continuous rocker is on the deep side, so these elements should pay off in windy conditions. I'm think'n it's gonna be a good board to hop on & keep control on after the skim gets to be too much.

WIll update once I squeeze in a solid sess w/it!

Had a session w/the Hyperlite 120cm sk8 & realized this thing needs LOADS of wind!
It was park the kite, crank upwind'n ride conditions w/my 134x39TT..On the Sk8, I was able to ride, but upwind wasn't too brilliant, not to mention board speed suffered MUCH too..Needless to say, I was kick'n myself in the A55 for not bringing my skim..

Felt like a fun board, but again, only with MUCH wind..
next time, both the sk8 and the skim will be on the beach wait'n.

Good advise. I have both in my car ready to go, but no wind. There always seems to something in the formula missing this time of year in Miami...
