Whoa :!: Super nice photos in some nice surf. Very nice shots! Looks like a sweet place to ride. How is the scene there? What are the good times to ride, average conditions, etc.? Do you ride your Nobile Skim in the surf with fins or without? I could not tell for sure from the photos.

Guincho is a well known spot in Portugal for it's strong winds and big waves. It has some sort of micro climate that interacts with the mountain and the sea brezee that makes it the most consistent spot in Portugal. In the afternoon winds up to 40knots is not uncommon although I had bad luck and never got to ride anything smaller than my 7m. We went on a roadtrip from Sweden to France and Portugal and only spent about a week in Guincho. I'm going back for sure. It's goofey heaven with cross onshore winds and mainly lefts when it's windy. When there is no wind it's a good surf spot as well with A-frame peaks all over the place. The wind can be a bit treacherous because there are two winds collaborating. Sometimes it's like someone turned of a button (in the wind factory) and you can see kites dropping from the sky and getting smashed by the waves. Definitely not a beginner spot. Check out the spot on google maps. Zoom in a little and you can even see some kites. The best place to go for wind is the summer when the micro climate is working. Wintertime they say it's often to big with up to 4 meter waves. The biggest day I had was with over head waves. I have some more photos but some of them are strapped  so I won't show you them. A Sweden local posted some more photos this morning on a swedish forum.

I normally ride the skim without fins in really shallow water but this time I wanted to try it out in the surf so I put the two fins in the back on. Still wiped out on some bottom turns though :D

Thanks for posting all the good info. Sounds like a wicked place to ride. Definitely going to have to find my way there if I make it to that part of Europe.
