Skimming with Go Pro line mount

Took the Go Pro on a downwinder yesterday. Sweet 7m conditions with tons of ramps! I think the airs look kinda lame from this angle, but the colors or cool!

Too cool! 8) Love it! Thanks for supporting LTS, and sharing those great shots. You know which one is my favorite! The colors of the shots do look amazing. After watching all of SDC's vids and your shots I think I need to get one of those.

Nice!

I was out today skimming on the Chesapeak with a 6/4/3, booties and a 8m.

I was not nearly as picturesque.

Keep the pictures coming, I would love to go somewhere warm

The Line mount was designed by a friend of mine, Jim Stringfellow. You can order one at http://www.kitehero.com I don't know if they work with 5 line kites? I have used it during 3 sessions. The first time skimming, I had the camera tilt all wrong, but look at the reef! The next time was in some over head waves on the Pacific side.....(sorry I used straps), and This is my favorite picture!

There is more on this topic ... Jim Stringfellow, the kiteboarding photographer in the Pacific Northwest (mentioned earlier in this thread) has been working with another video camera manufacturer (Contour), in addition to GoPro, to develop another unique mount system that attaches to the control lines of kites. These camera mounts provide great 'aerial' views of kiteboarding sessions. The Contour camera provides a standard perspective which provides a natural field of view, as compared to the GoPro HD Hero which gives a wide-angle field of perspective. From a recent post by Jim Stringfellow on the local Seattle-area kiteboarding forum (http://www.pskite.org), he provided a photograph which shows both action-sports video cameras side-by-side with their respective Kite Line mounts.

Each camera with this mounting configuration has their advantages. Here is one of my favorite photographs of Jim's that was posted in 2010 on http://www.pskite.org. It is of a kiteboard wave-riding session of a Cabrinha rider (Ken Lucas) along the Oregon coast. The photo is using the Kite Line mount by Kitehero for the GoPro HD camera. Note that I am not affiliated in any way and am not trying to sell anything ... just thought I'd add provide more information on mounting video cameras for awesome aerial views.
