New guy in town

Hi,

I'm from Quebec and been kiting 5-6 years, the last two I've removed my shorts and my straps ... ;)

Over here beside the cold we do gets lots of winds and onshore mushy waves, so pretty good to ride a litlle fish fully powered up. I usually ride a 5'8 Naish fish with a 6-9-12.

So beside that, presently shopping for a 5'8 Rusty piranha quad ! Anybody has try those in mushy waves and chops ?

Also thinking of getting a Skim that feel more like a surfboard. Any suggestions ?

Very nice site !

Hey Quebecsurf,

Welcome to LTS! Thank you for joining us, and posting your pic. Hey at least you are in a shorty now!

In conditions like you show in your picture I would recommend you give the Phase5 Prop a look for a small wave skim:

This board is super fun in small on-shore slop, and can make a crappy day a whole lot more interesting. Keep in mind that surfboards and skims are different animals completely. I would either choose a surfboard with a more skate like feel or a true skim. A true skim is never going to ride like a surfboard, nor should it for that matter. Its good to mix it up and experience both in their full glory. Skims in waves can be a bit of hard work at first to get used to, but can add a whole other style to your riding that will feed into your surfboard riding.

Welcome again, and please post any more questions you may have.
